Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Part Time Armed Deterrence Patrol in Memphis, TN to provide protective services in healthcare and other settings. You will patrol, deter incidents, and deliver excellent customer service while maintaining a professional presence.

This role offers part-time hours Fri-Sun evenings, competitive pay at $20.50 per hour, and access to our Shift platform for flexible scheduling and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid armed guard card or license.
• Experience handling handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or a baton preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to background investigation and drug screen.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors while carrying out security-related procedures and site policies.
• Conduct regular armed patrols of hospital buildings, parking areas, and surrounding grounds to identify and report hazards or policy concerns.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, and critical situations calmly and professionally; notify appropriate personnel or responders as needed.
• Monitor access points and manage visitor, patient, and contractor access per site procedures.
• Prepare accurate incident reports and maintain documentation related to patrol activities and responses.

• Fri 03:45 PM - 12:15 AM
• Sat 03:45 PM - 12:15 AM
• Sun 03:45 PM - 12:15 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of hospital buildings, parking areas, and surrounding grounds to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and/or policy concerns.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate hospital personnel and/or emergency responders as needed.
• Monitor access points and help manage visitor, patient, and contractor access in accordance with site-specific procedures.
• Prepare accurate incident reports and maintain required documentation related to patrol activities, observations, and responses.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a valid armed guard card or license.
• Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or a baton is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
