Qualifications

• At least 2 years of security‑related experience are required.
• An armed guard card or license is required.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and clients while carrying out site‑specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities in a healthcare location.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and policy concerns.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following site protocols and applicable laws.
• Maintain a professional armed presence and help support a welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff while documenting observations and incidents accurately.
• Operate assigned equipment and carry authorized firearms in accordance with training, licensing requirements, company policy, and applicable regulations.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Emergency Preparedness in Fairfax, VA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $21.74 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeMon11:00 PM - 07:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed‑Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 2 years of security‑related experience are required.
• An armed guard card or license is required.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
