Job summary

Allied Universal in De Soto, Kansas is seeking a part-time Security Officer – Area Patrol. This role supports a technology, media, and telecommunications site with flexible scheduling and the chance to grow within the team.

You will provide customer service, conduct unarmed patrols of interior and exterior areas, monitor access, respond to incidents, and complete reports in line with site procedures and Allied Universal standards.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior workspaces, exterior grounds, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures, verifying authorization and directing guests to appropriate destinations.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, documenting observations and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear and accurate activity reports, incident reports, and daily logs in accordance with Allied Universal and site‑specific requirements.
