Allied Universal in San Diego, CA is seeking a Security Officer Part Time Apartment Building Patrol. You will serve residents and visitors, perform unarmed patrols, monitor access points, and respond to incidents with professionalism and discretion.

This part‑time role offers a flexible schedule via our claim-a-shift platform, with a six‑month anchor at a residential site. A valid driver’s license is required for driving posts.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• A state, county, or city‑issued security‑related license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a residential location.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as directed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of residential buildings, common areas, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and property concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures, helping to deter unauthorized access and maintaining accurate activity reports.
• Document incidents, observations, and patrol activities clearly and promptly, and communicate relevant information to site management and Allied Universal leadership.

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.


• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
