Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer – Unarmed Patrol in San Diego, CA on a part‑time basis. This role offers flexible hours with anchor shifts and the opportunity to earn supplemental income while supporting security operations at a busy site.

Pay rate is $21.75 per hour. The role includes a fixed schedule with anchor shifts and a program to pick up additional shifts across sites. Ideal for gaining hands-on experience in the security industry.

Qualifications

• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and/or vehicle rental personnel while following security-related procedures and site policies.
• Conduct regular patrols of parking areas, access points, buildings, and perimeter areas.
• Monitor entry and exit activity, traffic flow, and direct visitors and vendors as needed.
• Respond to incidents calmly and coordinate with site contacts and emergency responders as needed.
• Document patrols and incidents with accurate reports and maintain professional communication with leadership.

As a Security Officer Unarmed Patrol in San Diego, CA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $21.75 / Hour

Job Schedule:

Sat 08:00 PM - 04:30 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.


• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and/or vehicle rental personnel while carrying out security-related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.


• Conduct regular and random patrols of parking areas, vehicle staging locations, access points, buildings, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual activity and report concerns.


• Monitor entry and exit activity, observe traffic flow, and assist with directing visitors and vendors in accordance with site procedures.


• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and emergency responders as needed.


• Document patrols, incidents, and observed conditions through accurate reports and maintain professional communication with Allied Universal leadership and site personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

• A state, county, or city‑issued security‑related license is preferred.


• A guard card or license is preferred.


• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.


• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.


• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.


• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.


• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
