Qualifications

• Armed guard card or license preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation required by federal, state and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements subject to state/local laws.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, access-control protocols, and emergency response activities.
• Monitor and control access to authorized areas by verifying identification, credentials, visitor authorizations, and entry/exit records.
• Screen visitors, staff, contractors, deliveries, and property; maintain logs and report discrepancies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations following post orders and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points and surrounding areas to deter unauthorized entry.

Pay Rate: $21.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Tue 05:45 PM - 06:00 AM
• Thur 05:45 PM - 06:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, access-control protocols, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government corrections location.
• Monitor and control access to authorized areas by verifying identification, credentials, visitor authorizations, and entry and exit records in accordance with site procedures.
• Screen visitors, staff, contractors, deliveries, and property as directed; maintain accurate logs and report access-related discrepancies to site leadership.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, surrounding areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized entry and identify security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• An armed guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
