Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and delivery personnel while carrying out site‑specific access‑control procedures.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials, issue temporary access credentials, and maintain visitor/contractor logs.
• Control access for deliveries, vendors, and construction personnel per site requirements.
• Respond to incidents calmly and escalate to site contacts or emergency services when needed.
• Conduct regular/random patrols to identify security concerns and deter unauthorized activity.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Access Control Verification in Reston, VA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $27.14 / Hour

Job Schedule:

Sat 05:00 AM - 01:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and delivery personnel while carrying out site‑specific access‑control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, issue temporary access credentials as directed, and maintain accurate visitor and contractor logs.
• Control access for deliveries, vendors, and construction personnel in accordance with established site requirements and applicable access restrictions.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, escalating matters to appropriate site contacts and emergency services when needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of designated access points, work areas, and the perimeter to identify and report security‑related concerns and help to deter unauthorized activity.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
