Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Security Officer (Access Control Operations) in WEST ORANGE, NJ. You will manage entry points, verify access, and maintain a visible security presence at a commercial real estate site while delivering professional service to residents, visitors, and staff.

The role is part-time with daytime shifts and a pay rate of $19.00 per hour. Eligibility includes a high school diploma and the ability to pass background checks and a drug screen as required by law.

• At least one year of security-related experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

• Provide exceptional customer service to residents, visitors, vendors, and/or delivery personnel while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities.
• Monitor and manage entry and exit points, verify authorized access, maintain visitor and vendor logs, and communicate access concerns to appropriate site contacts.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access-control issues, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned residential property areas, entrances, amenities, parking areas, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Prepare accurate reports and promptly communicate incidents, observations, and policy violations according to site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.li>
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
