Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced in Palmetto, FL. The role offers flexible, anchor shifts and opportunities to pick up extra shifts through the Earn-A-Shift program.

The position pays $19.00 per hour with a six-month anchor shift commitment and potential to scale to more than 40 hours per week. Candidates must meet minimum requirements and pass background checks and drug screening.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check will be conducted as required by law.
• Drug screen will be conducted as required by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply depending on state/local laws.
• A valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and employees by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and access-control policies.
• Monitor and control access to the site by verifying credentials and directing authorized personnel.
• Observe inbound and outbound vehicle activity and report irregularities.
• Respond to incidents and security concerns calmly and per reporting protocols.
• Conduct regular patrols of entrances, parking areas, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.

Pay Rate: $19.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

How This Role Works:

• Fixed‑Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and employees by carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures, access‑control policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor and control access to the food and beverage distribution location by verifying credentials, maintaining visitor and driver logs, and directing authorized personnel to designated areas.
• Observe inbound and outbound vehicle traffic, contractor activity, and delivery activity in accordance with site procedures, reporting irregularities to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, access‑control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner while following established reporting protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of entrances, loading areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
