Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, visitors, and vendors by carrying out access-control procedures and site policies.
• Monitor and control access to the facility by verifying identification and directing guests per procedures.
• Respond to access-control alarms, incidents, and critical situations calmly and document activities.
• Monitor entry points, reception areas, and access-control systems for unauthorized access or unusual activity.
• Conduct regular patrols and report maintenance concerns or security issues.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Access Control Coordinator in Totowa, NJ, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $21.25 / Hour

Job Schedule: Fri 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, visitors, and vendors by carrying out access‑control procedures, site‑specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a financial institution location.
• Monitor and control access to the facility by verifying identification, issuing and collecting visitor credentials, maintaining visitor logs, and directing guests according to established procedures.
• Respond to access‑control alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and documenting activities as required.
• Monitor entry points, reception areas, and access‑control systems for unauthorized access or unusual activity, helping to deter unauthorized entry.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, entrances, and the business perimeter, reporting maintenance concerns, access‑control issues, and suspicious conditions.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 1 year of law enforcement experience, 2 years of security‑related supervisor or manager experience, or 3 years of security‑related experience.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A state, county, or city‑issued security license is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
