Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of law enforcement experience, 2 years security‑related supervisor/manager experience, or 3 years security experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortably using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• State, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 (unarmed) / 21+ (armed); HS diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen required.
• License requirements vary by state/local laws.

As a Security Officer Part Time Access Authentication in Totowa, NJ, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $21.25 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeMon02:00 PM - 10:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors at a financial institution by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor and manage access to the location by verifying credentials, authorizing entry in accordance with site procedures, and maintaining visitor logs and access‑related records.
• Respond to access‑control alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner; promptly communicate observations and concerns to appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, common areas, and the business perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.
• Operate access‑control systems, cameras, communication equipment, and other site technology in accordance with established procedures, documenting incidents and daily activities accurately.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 1 year of law enforcement experience, 2 years of security‑related supervisor/manager experience, or 3 years of security‑related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortably using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A state, county, or city‑issued security‑related license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
