Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Part Time Security Officer – Access Control in Suffolk, VA. You will manage entry points, verify credentials, issue badges, monitor access activity, and respond to security concerns while delivering excellent customer service.

The role is part-time with a flexible schedule and opportunities to grow via our Claim a Shift platform. A background check and drug screen will be conducted as permitted by law.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, vendors, and delivery personnel by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor entry and exit points at a food and beverage distribution location; verify credentials, visitor authorizations, and delivery documentation before permitting access.
• Maintain accurate access logs, visitor records, and incident reports in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating matters to appropriate site contacts and/or emergency personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of designated access points, parking areas, loading docks, and the surrounding perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.

Pay Rate: $15.60 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Sat: 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM
• Sun: 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least one year of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
