Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Enhanced Part Time Access Point Patrol in Fairfax, VA. This role offers fixed anchor shifts with the option to pick up additional shifts through the scheduling platform, providing reliable income and potential for more hours.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel while carrying out site-specific security procedures and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds, access points, parking areas, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to designated areas, verify credentials, and report unauthorized entry attempts or policy concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and following site procedures; contact emergency services as needed.
• Prepare clear reports of patrols, incidents, observations, and security activities; communicate during shift handoffs.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Access Point Patrol in FAIRFAX, VA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.22 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeThur12:00 AM - 08:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel while carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a utility services location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds, access points, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual conditions and help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to designated areas, verify credentials as directed, and report unauthorized entry attempts or policy concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established site procedures and contacting emergency services and/or site representatives when appropriate.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports of patrols, incidents, observations, and security‑related activities, and communicate relevant information during shift handoffs.

Minimum Requirements:

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Experience working in a primarily driving post is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
