Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Access Control in Lompoc, CA. This role provides reliable, fixed anchor shifts with the option to pick up additional shifts to increase earnings, while supporting a secure work environment.

You will monitor access, verify credentials, and escort visitors with a strong emphasis on safety and customer service. A valid driver’s license and HS diploma are required, with background checks and drug screening conducted as part of employment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; background check and drug screen will be conducted.
• Customer service experience preferred for interaction with employees and visitors.
• Ability to lift 20+ pounds and operate basic computer/tablet devices.
• Driver license required for driving positions; valid guard card/license preferred.
• Must be 18+ (unarmed) or 21+ (armed) and able to pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at the site.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials and visitor authorizations.
• Issue visitor badges and maintain accurate entry/exit records per site policy.
• Control vehicle and pedestrian access and respond to suspicious activity.

Mon: 10:00 PM - 06:30 AM

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel while carrying out site‑specific procedures and access‑control requirements at a technology, media, and telecommunications location.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and visitor authorizations, issue visitor badges, and maintain accurate entry and exit records in accordance with site policies.
• Control vehicle and pedestrian access to the property, direct authorized individuals to appropriate locations, and report unauthorized access attempts or suspicious activity.
• Respond to access‑control incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established emergency response procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, business areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.

Minimum Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortably using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
