Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out site‑specific security procedures and access‑control policies.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials, issue visitor passes, and maintain entry/exit records.
• Control access for employees, visitors, contractors, and deliveries in logistics areas.
• Respond to incidents calmly and escalate according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular patrols of the facility, loading areas, and perimeter.

As a Security Officer Part Time Access Control at a Distribution center in Edison, NJ, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $19.12 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Sat: 07:00 AM - 04:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service by carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures, access‑control policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, issue visitor passes as directed, and maintain accurate entry and exit records.
• Control access for employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel entering and leaving logistics and distribution areas.
• Respond to incidents, access‑control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, escalating information according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, loading areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 6 months of security‑related experience is required.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
