Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Access Control Checkpoint in Edison, NJ. You will manage entry/exit points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and maintain a visible presence to deter security incidents while delivering excellent customer service.

Position is full-time with a pay rate of $19.12 per hour. You will follow site procedures, perform routine patrols, and respond calmly to incidents as part of a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• At least six months of security-related experience.
• Must be 18+ (21+ for armed roles).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by federal, state, and local laws.
• Drug screening required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements depend on state/local laws.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

You will manage entry and exit points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, conduct routine patrols, and maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and employees by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor access points at a logistics and distribution location, verify credentials and delivery documentation, and control entry and exit for personnel, visitors, and vehicles.
• Maintain accurate records of visitor activity, vehicle movements, access-control events, and security-related incidents in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and emergency services when required.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, loading areas, parking areas, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least six months of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
