Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Security Officer (Entry Credential Review) in Edison, NJ. You will monitor entry points, verify credentials, manage badge access, and support screening procedures to help maintain a secure environment.

A flexible schedule is available via our Claim a Shift platform. As a trusted member of our team, you will provide excellent customer service, communicate professionally with employees and visitors, and remain visible to deter security incidents.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• X-ray screening experience preferred.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen required by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and delivery personnel following site policies.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for staff and visitors.
• Document visitor, contractor, and vehicle activity; issue access credentials as directed; report discrepancies.
• Respond to incidents per escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular patrols of access points, loading areas, parking locations, and perimeter.

Pay Rate: $19.05 / Hour

Job Schedule:

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and delivery personnel by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for employees, contractors, visitors, and vehicle operators entering or departing the distribution location.
• Document visitor, contractor, and vehicle activity; issue access credentials as directed; and report access discrepancies or unusual activity to site leadership.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established escalation and communication procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, loading areas, parking locations, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 2 years of security‑related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• X‑ray screening experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
