Allied Universal in Carson, CA is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer to monitor access points, verify credentials, and provide professional customer service at a logistics and distribution site.

The role offers a flexible schedule (Wed 10:00 PM – 06:00 AM, Thu 10:00 PM – 06:00 AM) and opportunities to move into new roles via our Claim a Shift platform. A 1-year security background is preferred, with a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• A background check and drug screen are required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and/or employees by carrying out access-control procedures and site policies.
• Monitor access points, verify visitor and driver credentials, maintain entry records, and direct authorized individuals.
• Assist with controlling inbound and outbound traffic at gates, docks, and entrances.
• Respond to incidents and security concerns in a calm, proactive manner.
• Conduct regular patrols of access points, loading areas, spaces, and perimeter to identify unauthorized activity.

Pay Rate: $19.00 / Hour

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and/or employees by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor access points, verify visitor, contractor, and driver credentials, maintain entry records, and direct authorized individuals to designated areas of the logistics and distribution location.
• Assist with controlling inbound and outbound traffic at gates, docks, and/or employee entrances in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, loading areas, business spaces, and the perimeter to help identify unauthorized activity and report security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
