Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Guard in San Pedro, CA to verify visitor credentials, manage access points, and maintain clear records. You will provide professional service to visitors and staff while patrolling the site and supporting security operations.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation.
• A drug screen may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and employees by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor and control access to the logistics and distribution location by verifying credentials, screening visitors and contractors, issuing temporary access badges, and maintaining accurate entry and exit records.
• Observe vehicle and pedestrian traffic at gates, docks, and other designated access points; communicate access instructions and report unusual activity to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site-specific procedures and notifying appropriate contacts.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of designated interior areas, exterior grounds, perimeter points, parking areas, and loading zones to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
