Job summary

Horizon House is seeking a Security Officer to patrol the campus interior and exterior, ensure safety, and respond to suspicious circumstances using non-violent crisis intervention. You will answer phones, greet visitors, and prepare daily security reports.

The position includes evening/night shift differentials and varied schedules. Starting pay ranges from $23.00 to $25.23 per hour with additional shift differentials.

Qualifications

• Prior security or safety experience preferred.
• Ability to perform physical requirements with/without accommodation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Patrol the interior and exterior of the campus to ensure safety.
• Respond to suspicious circumstances using non-violent crisis intervention to de-escalate.
• Answer phones, screen calls, and transfer to appropriate department.
• Greet visitors and assist residents, vendors, and guests entering the building.
• Prepare daily security reports, hourly logs, and report concerns.
• Respond to service requests and emergencies per established procedures.
• Conduct safety inspections or drills and report outcomes to enhance safety.

What Youll Do

• Patrol the exterior and interior of the campus to ensure the property is safe and secure
• Respond make contact andor address suspicious circumstances and individuals using non violent crisis intervention methods to de escalat[e] disruptive individuals
• Answer phones screen calls take messages and transfer incoming calls to the appropriate department or resident
• Greet visitors and guests and assist residents vendors and visitors coming into the building
• Prepare a daily security report hourly log and report security concerns or activity
• Respond to requests for service and emergency situations according to established procedures
• Conduct safety inspections or drills including fire drills exterior lighting inspections and perimeter safety inspections Report the outcomes to enhance the safety of the community
