Job summary

Allied Universal in Somerset, PA is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer to protect patients, staff and visitors in a healthcare setting. You will perform access control, monitor entry points, and help maintain a safe, welcoming environment.

Pay is $16.95 per hour with day shifts: Tue and Fri 4:30 AM - 1:30 PM. Join a team guided by integrity, teamwork and reliability, with opportunities to grow through our Claim a Shift platform.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, patients, visitors, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials for authorized entry to healthcare areas, pharmacies, offices, and other restricted locations.
• Maintain accurate visitor, contractor, and delivery logs; issue temporary access credentials in accordance with site-specific procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns to appropriate site contacts and/or emergency personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, business areas, and the perimeter to help identify unauthorized access and report security-related concerns.
