Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Security Officer (Flex Part Time) in Parlin, NJ. The role offers flexible hours and a fixed anchor shift at a designated site with the option to pick up extra shifts to increase earnings.

Pay rate is $19.69 per hour with shifts on Daytime and evenings across weekends. Ideal candidates are at least 18 (21 for armed roles), possess a high school diploma, and can pass background and drug screenings. A valid driver's license is required for driving positions.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities at a chemical/petrochemical location.
• Monitor and control access to the facility by verifying identification, reviewing visitor and contractor authorizations, issuing credentials as directed, and maintaining required entry records.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site personnel and/or emergency responders according to established procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, perimeter areas, parking locations, and other assigned areas to help identify unusual activity or conditions requiring attention.
• Maintain accurate logs, complete incident reports, and communicate shift activity, access concerns, and site-specific information to Allied Universal leadership and authorized client personnel.

As a Security Officer Flex Part Time in Parlin, NJ, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
