Job summary

IRMC in Pennsylvania seeks a security officer to assist the director and coordinate access control, scheduling, drills, and officer training, with emphasis on safety and service.

The role requires strong interpersonal skills, vigilance in emergencies, and proper handling of issued firearms in accordance with policy.

Required: high school graduate; PA driver’s license; ACT 235/120 waiver; BLS preferred. Previous safety/security experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• Previous safety/security experience is preferred.
• Valid PA driver’s license is required.
• PA ACT 235 or PA ACT 120 (with PA ACT 235 waiver) is required.
• BLS certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the director and coordinate with control, photo IDs, card access, Kronos time and attendance, scheduling, fire drills and officer training.
• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Perform repetitive duties and remain alert in emergencies and crises.
• Answer customers’ questions and requests for assistance promptly and courteously.
• Safely handle, carry, and operate issued firearms; apply subject control tactics.

Job description

• Assisting the director as well as working with key control, photo IDs, card access, Kronos time and attendance, scheduling, fire drills and documentation, and the training and competency of officers.
• Utilizing excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Performing repetitive duties and alert in making decision in emergency and crisis situations.
• Answering customers’ questions and requests for assistance in a timely, accurate, and courteous manner.
• Performing the core skills required to safely handle, carry, and operate an issued firearm.
• Proper application of subject control tactics.
