Position Overview

This position is primarily Friday and Saturday nights from 11pm to 7am.

The Security Officer’s main duties are to maintain safety and security throughout the hotel premises, ensuring compliance with company policy and applicable laws.

Responsibilities

1. Patrol lobbies, corridors, guest rooms, and other hotel areas.
2. Confere with management, interview guests and employees.
3. Interrogate persons to detect infringements and investigate disturbances, complaints, thefts, vandalism, accidents, illnesses, violations of policies, and other loss‑related events.
4. Patrol hotel areas to detect, report and/or control fires, unsafe conditions, and missing or inoperative safety equipment.
5. Warn, eject troublemakers, and cautions careless persons.
6. Respond to, control, provide and obtain assistance for victims of accidents and/or illness. Also report such incidents in documentation.
7. Notify staff of presence of persons with questionable reputations.
8. Assist management and law‑enforcement officers in emergency situations.
9. Control all situations in a calm, professional, and hospitable manner.
10. Complete daily logs and incident reports.
11. Follow lost‑and‑found procedures.
12. Conduct daily key inventories and report variances.
13. Respond to alarm notifications.
14. Assist with emergency/evacuation training and processes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior hospitality/purchasing experience preferred.
• At least one year of customer‑service experience preferred.
• Minimum two years of security or police experience (military or civilian), preferably in a hotel environment.
• Minimum two years of college in a safety, security, or hospitality‑related discipline.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• First‑Aid/CPR certification, instructor rating preferred.
• High‑quality written and oral communication skills.
