Job summary

The JW Marriott Nashville Hotel is seeking an Overnight Security Officer who will patrol the property, monitor CCTV, assist guests with room access and provide exceptional guest service throughout the night shift.

Typical hours are 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM. The role requires English proficiency, professional demeanor, the ability to manage conflicts, read safety procedures, and work independently in a luxury environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Must have the ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure and work independently

Responsibilities

• Patrol all areas of the property; secure rooms; assist guests with room access
• Monitor Closed Circuit Televisions and alarm systems
• Authorize, monitor, and document access to secured areas
• Follow up on all unusual activities in and around the property that would impair the wellbeing of guests
• Defuse disturbances in accordance with Hotel policies and procedures
• Escort unwelcome persons from the property
• Assist external and internal guests during emergency situations
• Respond to accidents, contact EMS or administer first aid/CPR as required
• Assist the Director and Manager of Safety & Security in administering fire prevention programs and emergency preparedness
• Comply with applicable federal, state and local law and safety regulations
• Handle complaints, settle disputes, and resolve grievances and conflicts
• Perform additional duties and projects as assigned

General Summary of Duties

Education

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
