Job summary

Allied Universal in San Diego, CA is seeking a Security Officer for Morning Tech Center Patrol. You will monitor and protect a technology-focused site, provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors, and support access control procedures.

This full-time role requires reliable, professional presence, ability to follow site protocols, and readiness to respond to alarms and incidents. CPR/First Aid and background checks may be required; driving license only if applicable.

Qualifications

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors at a technology-focused location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of office areas, building exteriors, parking areas, access points, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual conditions and help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed by site procedures, and report access concerns or policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols and documenting relevant details.
• Prepare clear and accurate activity reports, incident reports, and shift communications while maintaining a professional presence in a dynamic technology environment.
