Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer with Military Police experience for our Austin location. You will monitor access points, patrol areas, and maintain a visible security presence while delivering excellent customer service to employees and visitors.

Applicants should have 3+ years in law enforcement-related roles, type at 40 wpm, and be comfortable with computers/tablets. Background checks and drug screening are standard requirements for employment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as Military Police Officer, Corrections Officer, Armed Security Professional, or Certified Law Enforcement Graduate.
• Type at a minimum of 40 words per minute.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors at a technology/telecom location by following site policies and procedures.
• Respond to incidents and access-control concerns calmly, escalating as needed per site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of office areas, common spaces, exterior grounds, and parking areas to identify unusual activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity and document observations and incidents accurately.
• Assist in maintaining a professional environment by clear communication with site personnel and clients.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating matters in accordance with site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of office areas, common spaces, exterior grounds, parking areas, and the business perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
• Monitor access points, visitor activity, and/or security-related systems in accordance with site requirements, documenting observations and incidents accurately.
• Assist with maintaining a professional environment by communicating clearly with site personnel and following Allied Universal and client site protocols.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have 3+ years of experience as a Military Police Officer, Corrections Officer, Armed Security Professional, or be a Certified Law Enforcement Graduate.
• Type at a minimum of 40 words per minute.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Have access control and badge experience preferred.
• Have customer service experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
