Job Description

As a Security Officer - Media Campus in Durham, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom and more.

As an unarmed patrol officer in a tech-focused location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a visible presence. Your responsibilities include conducting routine patrols, providing exceptional customer service, and communicating clearly with staff and visitors. You will contribute to a positive environment by acting with integrity, working collaboratively with your team, and putting people first in every interaction. Position Details

Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $19.50 / Hour

Schedule:

• Mon 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Sun 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by following security procedures, site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as needed.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and its perimeter, with working environments and conditions varying by site.
• Observe and report any suspicious activity or security-related incidents to the appropriate personnel.
• Assist with access control and help to deter unauthorized entry to restricted areas.
• Support emergency response activities and follow established protocols during incidents.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of daily activities and incidents encountered during patrols.

Minimum Requirements

• At least 1 year of security experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• North Carolina Security Professional Guard Card preferred.
• Minimum age: 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience.
• Must pass background investigation and drug screening as per laws.
• Licensing requirements depend on state/local laws.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions.
