Job summary

CommonSpirit Health seeks a Lead Security Officer to head a security team at CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center - Bergan Mercy. The role focuses on patrolling campuses, protecting people and property, and responding to alarms and emergencies.

You will oversee security operations, enforce access controls, monitor detection systems, and de-escalate or restrain individuals as needed, while maintaining documentation and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six months experience as security officer in a hospital or healthcare setting.
• Driver's license: NE, upon hire.
• Basic Life Support - CPR within 90 days.
• IAHSS Basic & Advanced courses within 90 days of appointment (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership for Security Services.
• Ensures delivery of quality services; regulatory compliance, and manages operations efficiently and effectively.
• Assist with oversight of the campus security and parking enforcement.
• Plans, organizes and directs work assignments; assists with training of security staff.
• Ensures that all Security Officers meet program standards, including uniform and grooming standards.
• Assists with the implementation and maintenance of security procedures to ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations.

*Job Summary and Responsibilities*

As our Lead Security Officer, you will lead a team in performing a full range of security activities, diligently patrolling campuses and clinics to protect persons, property, and equipment from volatile individuals, unauthorized access, or hazards.

Every day you will oversee security operations, patrol assigned buildings (foot/vehicle), identify violations, investigate incidents, respond to alarms/emergency codes, control hospital access, monitor detection systems, support helistop operations, and de-escalate or physically restrain individuals when necessary, meticulously documenting all actions and observations.

To be successful in this role, you will possess strong leadership abilities, exceptional vigilance, customer service skills, physical capacity for emergency response, and the ability to exercise sound judgment in interpreting and applying security guidelines, all while upholding a safe and secure environment.

*Pay Range*
