Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer for Screening Lane Operations in Indianapolis, IN. You will protect clients across logistics and distribution sites, conducting screening, managing access, and providing professional customer service.

The schedule includes Wed 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM and Thu 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM with a pay rate of $17.22 per hour. Allied Universal values integrity, reliability, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Experience with access control and badge procedures is advantageous.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred and beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and personnel.
• Screen employees, visitors, contractors, packages, and vehicles per site procedures.
• Monitor entry/exit points and document activity as required.
• Respond calmly to incidents and notify appropriate contacts and services.
• Conduct regular patrols of screening areas and perimeters to deter unauthorized activity.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Screen employees, visitors, contractors, packages, and/or vehicles in accordance with site procedures and access-control requirements.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials, and document visitor, delivery, and incident activity as required.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and emergency services when needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of screening areas, loading and shipping locations, facility grounds, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity.

Minimum Requirements

• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
