Job summary

The City of Dayton is seeking a Security Guard to safeguard water facilities, grounds, and restricted areas. The role includes operating the Ottawa Yards Security Booth to screen vehicles, visitors, vendors, and contractors, and enforcing security policies and safety regulations.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license. Background checks and drug/nicotine testing are requirements for employment.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school (or G.E.D.).
• Must possess a valid driver’s license at time of appointment and maintain thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Safeguard Department of Water facilities, equipment, grounds, and restricted areas against damage and loss.
• Operate the Ottawa Yards Security Booth to screen vehicles, visitors, vendors, and contractors entering and leaving the site.
• Enforce facility security policies, procedures, access requirements, and applicable safety regulations.
• Conduct routine and random security support and patrol of water facilities, grounds, restricted areas, and other designated City property to identify security concerns, suspicious activity, unauthorized access, and safety hazards.
