Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission is seeking a Security Officer II at the Corpus Christi State Supported Living Center. The role focuses on maintaining a secure environment, monitoring alarms and cameras, and coordinating emergency responses to protect residents, staff, and visitors.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, with background in security or related fields, and be able to work varied shifts including evenings and nights.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or 12 months of work experience required.
• Experience in security, law enforcement, or military is preferred.
• Experience with people with intellectual or developmental disabilities or behavioral issues is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor alarms and surveillance cameras and report incidents promptly.
• Patrol buildings and grounds to ensure safety and enforce access control.
• Respond to emergencies, coordinate with management and law enforcement as needed.
• Assist in training other security officers and maintain accurate event documentation.
• Maintain lighting and safety checks across the facility.
