Job description

Job Title: Security Officer

Employment Type: Full-Time, Days

Job Description:

1. Secure premises and personnel by patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points, and permitting entry.
2. Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities, informing violators of policies and procedures, and restraining trespassers.
3. Keep the Security supervisor informed of all issues and potential problems.
4. Assist the Supervisor with special and assigned projects such as locks and keys, security assessments, and product reviews.
5. Perform essential duties with limited supervision and use non-violent crisis intervention when needed to deal with visitors, patients, families, and employees.
6. Interact with patients and customers across all age categories, from infants to geriatrics.

Requirements:

1. High school diploma or equivalent GED
2. Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
3. Ability to achieve Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire (for Floyd Location: must have upon orientation)
4. Successfully obtain Taser X-26 certification, baton, and handcuff training
5. Experience with law enforcement agencies and/or military background preferred
6. Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO) with International Association of Healthcare Security and Safety certification required
