Job summary

Wind Creek Chicago is hiring a Security Officer II to safeguard guests, employees, and the casino property. The role emphasizes high guest contact, incident response, and adherence to internal controls and regulatory requirements.

This position requires physical fitness tests, security training completions like BASSET/Title 31, and the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. A valid driver’s license and state license are mandatory.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required or currently enrolled and complete GED within six months.
• Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older.
• Two (2) years’ experience in law enforcement, military, corrections or other security capacity (required).
• OR One (1) year of casino security experience with at least 80% on basic training within 60 days (required).
• Must be State recognized Emergency Care Provider, Emergency Medical Responder or equivalent (AED/CPR) within 90 days.
• Must meet a departmental physical fitness standard (lift 100 lbs, climb 4 flights, run 350 ft; annual re-test).
• BASSET and Title 31 training must be completed.
• Able to pass interview including guest service audition.
• Must be able to stand/walk for entire shift.
• Willing to work nights, weekends and holidays.
• Must have Occupational License per Illinois Gaming Act and a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Identifies under-age patrons and requires ID for those under 30 to prevent entry to gaming areas.
• Prevents access to gaming floor for patrons under 21.
• Monitors alcohol use and ensures alcohol does not leave the property.
• Provides security for casino, hotel and property assets.
• Performs general security patrols and responds to incidents.
• Provides medical assistance as required.
• Reports violations to management and Illinois Gaming Board.
• Escorts team members and guests; drives company vehicles as needed.
• Manages security at special events and handles key control and radio communications.
• Maintains game integrity and safeguards assets.

Job description

The Security Officer II is responsible for the security, safety of the guests, employees and visitors. The Security Officer II is also responsible for the security and control of the casino’s property and its assets. This position involves a high level of guest contact and customer service, and may involve handling problem guests.

Schedule:

Security Team operate 24 hours a day/7 days a week. Days/shifts are assigned to meet the needs of the organization, and are subject to change to meet the needs of the organization. Positions include week-end and holiday shifts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Identifies all under-age patrons seeking to enter any Wind Creek Hospitality facility by requiring valid identification for any patron that appears under the age of 30 years of age
• Prevents access to the gaming floor for anyone under the age of 21
• Monitors alcohol consumption and ensures that alcohol does not leave the property
• Provides security and control of casino, hotel and property assets
• Performs general Security patrols
• Provides medical assistance as required
• Responds to incidents involving guests
• Checks identification, prevents theft and controls crowds
• Verifies gaming machine access and payouts
• Provides key control and radio communications
• Escorts team members and guests
• Reports employee violations of established policies and procedures, directives, and internal controls to upper management and the Illinois Gaming Board
• Patrols entrance/exit doors and parking lots
• Provides security at special events
• Drives company vehicles and shuttles
• Initiate and prepare Security Incident Reports
• Escort chips, cash, and table game drops per company procedures and regulatory requirements
• Report any criminal or suspicious activity without hesitation
• Perform duties and responsibilities associated with the IGB Statewide Voluntary Self-Exclusion Program
• Safeguard the overall integrity of gaming
• Other job duties as assigned

Job Requirements:(please ensure you meet the listed requirements prior to applying)

• High School diploma or GED required or currently enrolled and successfully complete a GED program within six (6) months from start date as a condition of continued employment
• Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older
• Two (2) years’ experience in law enforcement, military, corrections or other security capacity- required
  • OR One (1) year of experience in a security position within a casino environment– required AND successfully complete at a minimum of 80% pass rate basic Security Officer training program within sixty (60) days of employment- required
• Must be State recognized Emergency Care Provider, Emergency Medical Responder or equivalent to include AED and CPR within 90 days of employment
• Must be able to meet and maintain a departmental physical fitness standard- required; the security department may conduct a test that is comparable to the below requirements:
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 lbs for a distance of 300 feet within 120 seconds
  • Must be able to climb 4 flights of stairs in 80 seconds
  • Must be able to run 350 ft in 90 seconds
  • Annually re-test for all physical requirements
• Good writing and verbal communication skills; a skills test will be administered and candidate must achieve at least 70% skills pass rate- required
• Must complete/pass BASSET and Title#31 training as a condition of employment
• Must successfully pass job interview, including a guest service audition
• Must be able to stand and/or walk for entire shift
• Willing to work odd and irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays
• Willing to travel and participate in training as recommended or required
• Must have an Occupational License (or the ability to obtain and maintain a license) pursuant to the Illinois Gaming Act and remain in good standing with the Illinois Gaming Board as a requirement for this position
• Must have a current State driver’s license and an insurable driving record; for purposes of driving company vehicles

Base Pay:

• Compensation:$16.50 - $22.73 per hour, with starting pay based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and skills.
