Position Summary:

Responsible for the security, safety, and property of Braxton County Memorial Hospital, including its employees, volunteers, and visitors.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education, Certification, and/or Licensure:

High school diploma or equivalent. Valid Driver's License - must be maintained during employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience in the security field.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Directs and supervises traffic control.
2. Assists nursing staff as requested by the Chief Security Officer.
3. Participates in patient safety training related to medical/healthcare errors and abuse, including reporting methods.
4. Locks all exit doors and rechecks them during rounds; checks windows and doors for proper locking.
5. Patrols parking areas to ensure proper parking, prevent vandalism, and keep children away from vehicles.
6. Conducts tours of hospital buildings and construction areas to prevent theft, vandalism, equipment malfunctions, and fire hazards.
7. Knowledgeable about firefighting equipment in hospital and auxiliary buildings.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit, stand, and walk for entire or double shifts; lift, push, or pull 50 pounds; tolerate adverse environmental conditions.

Working Environment:

Exposure to outside weather conditions; ability to perform under stress; good decision-making skills; organizational skills for document controls; writing skills; teamwork and contribution.
