Responsibilities

Responsible for the security, safety, and property of Summersville Regional Medical Center, its employees, volunteers, and visitors.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education, Certification, and/or Licensure:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver's License - must be maintained during employment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience: Prior experience in the Security field.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

The following are typical duties; other responsibilities may be assigned:

1. Directs and supervises traffic control.
2. Assists nursing staff as requested by the Chief Security Officer.
3. Participates in patient safety training and reporting of medical/healthcare errors and abuse.
4. Locks all exit doors and rechecks during rounds.
5. Checks all windows and doors to ensure they are properly locked.
6. Patrols parking areas to prevent vandalism and ensure safety.
7. Conducts tours of hospital buildings and construction areas to prevent theft, vandalism, and fire hazards.
8. Knows the location and use of firefighting equipment.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to:

1. Sit, stand, and walk for entire or double shifts.
2. Lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
3. Tolerate adverse environmental conditions.

Working Environment

May frequently be exposed to outside weather conditions.
