The Safety Officer I ensures the safety and security of the Calvert City plant by monitoring premises, controlling access, responding to emergencies, and supporting site safety programs. Responsibilities include conducting inspections, supporting emergency response training, assisting with HazMat and rescue operations, and maintaining regulatory compliance across the site.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Patrol and monitor premises to prevent theft, violence, and rule violations.
  • Manage delivery and visitor access.
  • Conduct inspections and audits to ensure safety compliance.
  • Support EMS, HazMat, rescue, and fire response activities.
  • Train and assist site Emergency Response Teams.
  • Maintain safety equipment and reduce workplace risks.
  • Exhibit professionalism and proactive problem solving.
  • Support regional and site OSHA annual regulatory training.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • EMT certification.
  • State Firefighter certification.
  • Industrial plant experience preferred.
  • Basic experience with office and operational systems.
  • Ability to work under supervision with limited independence.
  • Develop and interpret policies and procedures aligned to organizational goals.
  • Plan and prioritize tasks to meet business objectives.
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Ability to monitor basic computer network functions.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
