Hy-Vee is seeking a Chariton Security Officer I to oversee security operations within our supply chain facilities in Chariton, IA. This on-site role ensures safe ingress/egress, monitors CCTV, and coordinates responses to security and safety incidents.
The position requires a high school diploma, background check, CPR/AED certification, and a valid driver’s license. Prior security experience is preferred, with opportunities for ongoing training and advancement within the Supply Chain Security

Job Description: Job Title: Chariton Security Officer I Department: Security FLSA: Non-Exempt General Function Responsible for performing high-level Supply Chain Facility Security Officer duties to ensure the successful and effective protection of employees, guests, and assets, and reputation within Hy-Vee’s supply chain facilities. Supply Chain Facility Security Officers remain vigilant, act with integrity, uphold company policies and procedures, and conduct all interactions respectfully and tactfully. Work shift varies based on opening. Nights and weekends frequently needed.
Reporting Relations Reports to: Assistant Director, Supply Chain Security; Manager, Supply Chain Security – Pharmacy and Specialty Supervisor, Supply Chain Security Positions that report to you: None
Visual requirements include: ability to see detail at near and far range with or without correction. Must be physically able to perform heavy work: lifting no more than 100 pounds, with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing no more than 50 pounds. Should also be able to perform medium through sedentary work. Must be able to perform the following physical activities: Stooping, kneeling, bending, standing, reaching, lifting, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

Possess knowledge and experience as an armed security officer, law enforcement officer, or extensive military firearms experience (preferred).
This position frequently involves a fast work pace in a supply chain facility setting. There is frequent pressure to handle multiple tasks in a day and meet deadlines.
Has access to confidential information including knowledge of employee confessions, and investigation proceedings on company personnel.
* * For Kansas City area locations only: The ability to obtain and maintain a professional armed security officer permit through the Kansas City Board of Police Commissioners Private Officer’s Licensing Unit, for which a written examination, firearms proficiency test, and background, work history, military service, and criminal history check, qualification, and standards are required.
