Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer in Charleston, SC to safeguard clients in healthcare and other facilities. Roles include unarmed patrols, patient and staff customer service, and enforcing site policies while maintaining a visible security presence.

Qualifications

• Must have at least two years of service in a healthcare or medical-related field.
• Must be able to meet hospital vaccination requirements.
• Must be able to work in a hospital morgue environment.
• Must be able to restrain individuals as needed.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
• Respond to incidents, patient or visitor concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned areas, including building interiors, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter locations, to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location, reporting unusual conditions, hazards, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and other required documentation in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific procedures.

What You’ll Do

Minimum Requirements

• Must be able to meet hospital vaccination requirements.
• Must be able to work in a hospital morgue environment.
• Must be able to restrain individuals as needed.
• Have at least two years of service in a healthcare or medical‑related field.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
