Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Hospital Access Control in Downey, CA. The role involves patrolling hospital facilities, monitoring entrances, and ensuring patient, staff, and visitor safety in a healthcare environment.

You will respond to incidents, assist with access control, and document observations while upholding company procedures and patient-centered service in a dynamic hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Have at least 5 years of security-related experience.
• Have supervisory experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, a background investigation will be conducted.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out site-specific procedures and emergency response activities in a healthcare setting.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of hospital buildings, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, disturbances, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following site procedures.
• Assist with access control by monitoring entrances, checking credentials, directing visitors, and reporting unauthorized access or suspicious activity.
• Document patrols, incidents, and security-related observations accurately and communicate relevant information to supervisors and site contacts.

What You'll Do

• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, disturbances, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following site procedures and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Assist with access control by monitoring entrances, checking credentials as required, directing visitors, and reporting unauthorized access or suspicious activity.
• Document patrols, incidents, and security‑related observations accurately and communicate relevant information to supervisors and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements

• Have at least 5 years of security‑related experience.
• Have supervisory experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
