Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Security Officer at a Home Center location in San Antonio, TX. You will serve customers, associates, and visitors while following site-specific policies and emergency procedures to keep the store safe and welcoming.

Daytime shifts include Wednesday and Thursday 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The role offers a $16.00 per hour pay rate with opportunities to learn and grow through our Earn More program and perks program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Guard Card/License is preferred.
• Minimum age 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screen required by law.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to customers, associates, and visitors per site policies and emergencies.
• Respond calmly to incidents and escalate per site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols to deter unauthorized activity.
• Observe and report suspicious activity and policy violations to leadership.
• Complete required activity reports and shift logs promptly.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to customers, associates, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail location.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail sales floor, entrances, receiving areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Observe and report suspicious activity, hazards, and policy violations to appropriate store leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
• Complete required activity reports, incident documentation, and shift logs accurately and promptly.

Minimum Requirements:

• A Guard Card/License is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
