Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer for alarm response patrol in Bessemer, AL. The role is full-time, paying $17.46 per hour, with early morning shifts including weekends. You will perform security patrols, monitor access, respond to incidents, and maintain accurate logs.

Required are a high school diploma and the ability to pass background and drug screening. Prior alarm, CPR, or access-control experience is preferred, and applicants must be 18+ (21+ for armed roles) per job

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• A background check will be conducted as part of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors at a technology-focused location by following security-related procedures and site policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of office areas, entry points, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, escalating unauthorized access or suspicious activity as needed.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly and document observations and actions.
• Maintain detailed activity logs, incident reports, and shift handoff communications.
