Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time X Ray Screening in Reading, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As a Screener at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will use screening equipment to help identify prohibited items, support access-control procedures, and help maintain an orderly environment. You will remain visible, communicate professionally with employees and visitors, document security-related activities, and deliver exceptional customer service. • Security Experience:
  • Candidates must possess a minimum of one year of relevant security experience prior to employment. This experience should be verifiable and relevant to the position for which the candidate is applying.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and/or delivery personnel by carrying out site-specific screening procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Screen employees, visitors, packages, and/or vehicles entering the logistics and distribution location in accordance with site procedures.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and shipping-related documentation, and report unauthorized access attempts or irregularities to site leadership.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and reporting procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned screening areas, loading zones, business areas, and perimeter locations; working environments and conditions may vary by site.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
