Job summary

Allied Universal in Chicago, IL seeks a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Service Patrol to protect clients at a museum and educational location. You will perform patrols, maintain a welcoming environment, and assist visitors and staff as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities include monitoring access points, responding to incidents, and documenting activities. A guard card/license and CPR are preferred, with background checks required by law.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check is required by law and company policy.

• Document daily activities, patrols, incidents, and observations in reporting procedures.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, students, faculty, staff, and guests by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a museum and educational location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of galleries, classrooms, public areas, offices, exterior grounds, entrances, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, or maintenance concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with directions and facility information, and help maintain orderly movement throughout the location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical situations, and critical events in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and contacting appropriate personnel as needed.
• Document daily activities, patrols, incidents, and observations accurately in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific reporting procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
