Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Perimeter Patrol Driver in Syracuse, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a healthcare setting, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. This driving post requires a valid driver’s license. You will provide outstanding customer service, communicate clearly, and respond to security‑related concerns with integrity, reliability, teamwork, and care.

Pay Rate: $23.44 / Hour

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors while carrying out site‑specific policies, security‑related procedures, and emergency response activities as appropriate.


• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders according to site procedures.


• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of healthcare facilities, patient care areas, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.


• Monitor access points and assist with visitor screening, directions, and compliance with facility access requirements.


• Prepare clear, accurate reports regarding incidents, observations, and interactions in accordance with Allied Universal and site‑specific procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.


• Possess a New York State Security Guard License.


• Have at least 6 months of security‑related experience.


• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.


• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.


• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.


• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.


• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
