Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer for full-time unarmed patrol services in Lancaster, PA. You will monitor and safeguard campus facilities, maintain access control, and deliver friendly customer service to students, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors and contractors while following site procedures.
• Regularly patrol campus buildings, residence areas, parking, grounds and perimeters to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, report entry issues and hazards per site rules.
• Respond calmly to incidents and emergencies and notify appropriate personnel as needed.
• Prepare accurate reports and communicate activities to leadership and site contacts.

Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Patrol Services in Lancaster, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Unarmed Security Officer at a university location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, support access control, and provide outstanding customer service to students, staff, and visitors. Using computer or tablet tools, you will communicate clearly, report security-related concerns, and contribute through teamwork, integrity, and Allied Universal’s caring culture.

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $18.54 / Hour

• Access Control/Badge Experience (B201)Candidates should have prior experience with access control systems and badge management. This includes familiarity with issuing, tracking, and managing access badges for employees and visitors.
• Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet (B204)Candidates should be proficient in using computers or tablets for daily tasks. This includes familiarity with software applications, email communication, and data entry.
• Customer Service Experience (B219)Candidates must have a background in customer service, demonstrating strong communication skills and the ability to handle inquiries and resolve issues effectively.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or contractors while carrying out site-specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of campus buildings, residence areas, parking facilities, grounds, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and report unauthorized entry, suspicious activity, hazards, and/or maintenance concerns in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, contacting appropriate campus personnel and/or emergency services as needed.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain clear communication with Allied Universal leadership and site contacts regarding daily activities, incidents, and security-related observations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
