Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer for a full-time unarmed patrol position in Austin, TX. You will monitor retail locations, provide customer service, maintain a visible presence, and deter security incidents while following site procedures and policies.

You must be 18+ (21+ for armed roles), have a high school diploma or equivalent, and be willing to undergo background checks and drug testing in line with laws.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation conducted according to federal, state, and local laws.
• Drug screen to the extent permitted by law; licensing may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, customers, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location, including sales areas, entrances, exits, receiving areas, parking areas, and perimeter.
• Monitor for unusual activity, assist with access control, and report observed policy violations, hazards, or suspicious conditions to site leadership and appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures.
• Help to deter theft, trespassing, and other unauthorized activity through a professional, visible presence and timely reporting.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
