Allied Universal in La Crescenta, CA is hiring a Security Officer (Full Time, Unarmed Patrol) to safeguard students, staff and visitors at an educational location. You will monitor access, perform patrols, and respond to incidents with professional communication and customer service.

The role requires being at least 18, HS diploma, and a background check. Salary is $19.00 per hour with full benefits and growth opportunities through Allied Universal.

Qualifications

Pay Rate: $19.00 / Hour

• Mon 07:30 AM - 04:00 PM
• Tue 07:30 AM - 04:00 PM
• Wed 07:30 AM - 04:00 PM
• Thur 07:30 AM - 04:00 PM
• Fri 07:30 AM - 04:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and faculty by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established school district protocols.
• Conduct regular and random foot and vehicle patrols of school buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, report suspicious behavior or maintenance concerns, and communicate relevant information to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear, accurate activity and incident reports in accordance with site-specific requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfortability using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
