Job summary

Allied Universal in Santa Monica, CA is seeking a full-time Unarmed Patrol Security Officer to monitor retail locations, deter incidents, and provide outstanding customer service. You will maintain a visible presence, support access control, and work as part of a collaborative team.

This role requires at least 6 months of security experience, a high school diploma, and the ability to pass background checks and a drug screen.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail property, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity or hazards.
• Monitor access points, observe activity within the location, and report policy violations, suspicious behavior, and maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Complete detailed activity logs, incident reports, and other required documentation in accordance with site procedures and Allied Universal standards.
