Job summary

Allied Universal® in Redwood City, CA is seeking a full-time Unarmed Security Guard with driving patrol responsibilities. You will protect campus facilities, patrol buildings and grounds, deter incidents, and assist students, staff, and visitors while delivering courteous service.

The role requires a valid driver's license, two years of security experience, and a commitment to safety, integrity, and reliable teamwork. CPR and guard credentials are preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• At least two years of security-related experience is required.
• A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established campus protocols.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and report unusual conditions, hazards, policy violations, and maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Document patrol activities, incidents, and observations accurately and communicate relevant information during shift transitions.
